These Terms govern your use of the Blades app. By downloading or using Blades you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Who we are
Blades is provided by Jesper Toreld, Upplands Väsby, Sweden. Contact: [email protected].
2. The service
Blades is a digital flight logbook that helps you record, scan and export flight data. It is a tool: you are always responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your logbook and for meeting any regulatory requirements. Blades is not an official record and is not a substitute for any logbook your authority requires.
3. Not for navigation
Blades must not be used for flight planning or navigation.
Airport data, runways, frequencies, weather reports and forecasts (METAR/TAF), maps, distances, courses, and flight time and fuel estimates shown in the app or on our website are for general reference only. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Always use official sources — such as the AIP, NOTAMs, official weather briefings and approved navigation equipment — when you plan or conduct a flight.
4. AI features
AI features (scanning, lookups, import mapping and news summaries) are an aid and may be inaccurate. Always review AI results before saving. News summaries are generated automatically, may be incomplete or wrong, and link to the original articles, which belong to their publishers. We do not guarantee the accuracy or availability of AI output.
5. Free use, Premium and purchases
- Free — a limited number of manually logged flights and a one-time allowance of Blade-coins for AI features.
- Blades Premium — an auto-renewing subscription with unlimited manual logging and a monthly allowance of Blade-coins. The current price and billing period are shown in the App Store for your region.
Blade-coins are an in-app allowance for AI features. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and unused coins do not carry over between periods.
Purchases and subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.
6. Promo codes
We may issue promo codes that grant Premium access at no charge (for example, to testers). Promo access is a revocable licence: it may be limited or withdrawn at any time, is tied to your device, and must not be sold or shared.
7. Your data and ownership
You own the data you enter. We claim no rights to it and keep no central copy of it (see the Privacy Policy). You can export or delete it at any time.
8. Third-party content and services
Blades shows content and data from third parties, including airport data (OurAirports, airportmap-database), weather (NOAA Aviation Weather Center), maps (Apple), satellite imagery on share cards (Esri and its imagery providers), the dashboard globe (open-source globe.gl textures), aircraft and drone photos (Wikimedia Commons, under their respective licences) and aviation news (linked to the original publishers). This content belongs to its respective owners, is provided as is, and may be incomplete or out of date.
9. Acceptable use
Do not reverse-engineer the app or its API, circumvent allowances or access controls, or use the service other than for your own personal flight logging.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Blades is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for errors in AI-generated or third-party data, loss of data due to device failure or your own actions, or any regulatory or operational consequences of relying on the app or on inaccurate logbook entries. Keep an independent backup of your official logbook. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Swedish or EU law, or your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Changes, suspension and termination
We may update the app and these Terms, and may suspend the service in case of abuse. Your locally stored data remains yours regardless.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Swedish law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence in the EU. Disputes are subject to the Swedish courts; as a consumer you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
13. App Store (Apple)
Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app or its content; these Terms are between you and us. Maintenance, support and any warranty are our responsibility, not Apple's. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
